I’ve not blogged in a while, my girls are finally to the stage that “I’m going to write about this” can be leveraged against rude behavior. And they are old enough to know I most certainly will. Mwhahah (that was my evil laugh)
Hubby is still farming 7 days a week, the girls are both adept at driving various machinery, and nearly experts on cattle handling. Lynn is almost done with the grain harvest and I think his opinion about yields this year is “meh”.
C&C are both in the “sometimes I want to look cute and wear makeup” phase, and somehow also the “baggy dirty day old sweats”
It’s been entertaining and educational”rediscovering” make-up and hair with them. I’ve had a look at some of my sparkling warm toned eye makeup and realized that it doesn’t make me feel fabulous, so off it goes. They help each other with it, and help me too.
So homeschooling is happening, Homeschool Classes are still happening, Beef Business is going well, the girls have started a tallow business and have seen some success with that. I have to push them to get it ready on time weekly. I’m plotting a new parenting method to deal with that, so stay tuned for my brilliant parenting success or a dismal rotten failure. The girls laugh so hard every time one of my random adhd brain “punishments” for their crimes. Just know sometimes my fails sometimes make the kids laugh so hard that whatever we were dealing with doesn’t seem so hard anymore. .
I may talk more about the random consequences that happen here… usually weird and super silly. Generally it works well, and if not at least one of us start laughing and pretty soon all of us sre then we aren’t at odds anymore.
Claire is handing her diabetes decently, especially for those contrary 11 year old hormones that are trying to take over daily.
I stay overwhelmed managing everyone’s meds and appointments and Dr/Dentist bills and such. Just a lot of precise details needed….and precise details are NOT my strong suit.
For the most part Caroline is my market buddy. I had a cold or allergies this morning and she just took care of business for me, and I told her how much I appreciated her. She’s 14 anD she’s not constantly challenging me anymore.
I was starting to think that instead of a phase that it was her forever personality and we would always be at odds. You know me, just a few nights fretting over my girls future families and WHAT If THEY DON’T WANT TO COME ON THANKSGIVING 2040??!! Perhaps that fretting had purpose, because I finally decided if they want to come around, they can do it whatever day works best for them. After all, I can wear red shirts trimmed in tinsel in November and April, and I’m sure I could find us all Christmas themed swimsuits if they decide July works best.
Well, Claire’s diabetes tech needs attention, so I’ll sign out.
